Welcome to Cromwell Hall Christian Fellowship
Coming to a church for the first time can feel a little daunting. You may have questions about what happens, what you should wear, whether you will know anyone, or simply what to expect when you walk through the door.
Even if you have been to other churches before, visiting somewhere new can bring its own questions. We hope the information below will help you feel more comfortable and reassured before you visit. Above all, we want you to know that you will receive a warm welcome.
Do I need to be a Christian to come?
Not at all. Whether you are exploring Christianity for the first time, unsure what you believe, or have been a Christian for many years, you are very welcome.
You do not need to have all the answers, and there is no expectation that you should. Even those who have been Christians for many years are continually learning and discovering more about the Christian faith.
What should I wear?
There is no dress code. Some people feel more comfortable dressing smartly for church, while others prefer to dress more casually. Please come in whatever you feel comfortable wearing.
What can I expect when I arrive?
We understand that walking into an unfamiliar church can feel a little intimidating. You may wonder what happens behind the doors or whether you will know what to do.
Our meetings and services usually last around an hour. When you arrive, you can sit wherever you like, as we do not have reserved seats.
Visitors are very welcome simply to observe and listen. You are not expected to pray, speak, or contribute financially. There is no pressure to participate in anything that you are not comfortable with.
As a small church, we are able to get to know people rather than having newcomers disappear into a crowd. We want to make you feel welcome without making you feel overwhelmed or under pressure.
You are very welcome to stay and talk with us after a meeting, but there is absolutely no obligation to do so. If you prefer to leave straight after the service, that is perfectly fine too.
The Lord Jesus taught His disciples to be welcoming and helpful towards their neighbours, and this is something we seek to put into practice.
A church community
We believe that church is more than a building. It is a community of people who meet together to worship God, learn from the Bible, encourage one another, and share in one another's lives.
As you get to know us, you will have opportunities to make friends, become involved, and grow in your understanding of the Christian faith, supported and encouraged by people who are on the journey with you.
We love meeting new people. Our church has a long history of welcoming people from different parts of the world, and many among us have experience of living abroad or have friends and family overseas.
We understand some of the joys and challenges that can come with experiencing a new culture, perhaps learning or using a new language, making new friends, adapting to life in a different country, and even getting used to the English weather and food!
Whether you are exploring Christianity for the first time, returning to church after a long time away, or are already a Christian looking for a new church family, we would be delighted to welcome you to one of our meetings.
